PLAINFEILD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man suffered a broken leg when he jumped out of his moving truck Friday morning just before it landed in Versluis Lake.
The driver claims he lost his brakes while traveling northbound on Plainfield Avenue, according to police.
The driver said he was trying to slow down when he was approaching the intersection at Northland Drive when he realized he had no brakes. He went through two traffic lights and then traveled through a parking lot into the lake. The driver said he panicked and jumped out of the truck right before it hit the water.
Police said the driver suffered a broken leg.
Amazingly, no other vehicles were involved.
