GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — It’s a piece of living history.
The Experimental Aircraft Association has brought one of the few B-17 World War II era bombers, the Aluminum Overcast, to Grand Rapids.
One of the pilots says it’s a chance for a younger generation to experience history first-hand and to see what family members who may have served in World War II went through.
If you want to take the family, the plane will be here through August 18 at Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
You can experience the plane from the ground or take a flight.
All of the costs for tours go to help with maintenance and operation costs of the plane.
