A Middletown CT. couple is offering a “helping hand” when it comes to keeping your rings secure on your finger.
The idea rose after Karen Folcik dropped her engagement ring into a New York City sewer drain, luckily it was later recovered, but that’s when she and husband Mike, an electrical engineer by trade, came up with whats known as the “ring wrapper”.
“It’s a silicone band that you wear over your ring so you just slide in on and it protects your ring from everything,” Karen said.
Mike added , “I’m an electrical engineer and my whole world is solving problems.” From their modest home office there are big plans for the ring wrapper, the couple is vying to make to the top shelf, in a sense – they have made it past the first round of Wal-Mart’s “get on the shelf” competition.
Michael said, “The idea, it allows Wal-Mart to go out into the small business world and find some clever ideas and nice products that probably couldn’t otherwise get into Wal-Mart.”
Next comes the on-line vote as thousands of shoppers will pick their favorite product, for more information on the ring wrapper, visit their website.
