GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Drivers seeking access from westbound I-96 to Plainfield Avenue will have a drive a few extra miles this weekend due to ramp closures.
The ramp from westbound I-96 to Plainfield Avenue will be closed from Friday at 7 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m. Also, the ramp from Plainfield Avenue to westbound I-96 will be closed for the same period.
The detour for I-96 drivers seeking to get to Plainfield Avenue involves continuing to the US-131 interchange and use the ramps to get onto eastbound I-96. The detour for Plainfield Avenue drivers requires you to enter eastbound I-96 and drive all the way to Leonard Street to exit and enter westbound I-96.
Meanwhile, a lane closure returns to eastbound I-196 at the Grand River this weekend. The left lane will be closed from Saturday 6 a.m. to Sunday 10 p.m.
