MASON COUNTY, Mich — A 67-year-old man drowned in Lake Michigan on Saturday, July 20, while swimming with friends.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at approximately 4 p.m. in the Nordhouse Dunes area. That’s in Grant Township.
Bruce Henderson, of East Lansing, went underwater. After about 20 minutes, one of his friends pulled him out.
Witnesses on the beach performed CPR, but Henderson was pronounced dead at West Shore Hospital in Manistee.
