OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — Several cooling stations will be open throughout Ottawa County to help residents get out of the heat.
The following centers are open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.:
- Barber School, located at the corner of Buchanan and Exchange St., Spring Lake
- Ferrysburg City Hall, located at 17290 Roosevelt Ave.
- Grand Haven City Hall, located at 500 Washington Ave.
- The Grand Haven Community Center, located at the corner of Columbus Ave and Fifth St.
- Loutit District Library, located at 407 Columbus Ave, Grand Haven
- North Ottawa County Council on Aging, located at 422 Fulton Ave, Grand Haven
- Georgetown Ice Arena, located at 8500 48th Ave., Hudsonville
- American Red Cross, located at 270 James St., Holland
The Ottawa County Department of Public Health has also issued a reminder to stay in air-conditioned buildings, limit outdoor activities, wear loose and lightweight clothing, and check on at-risk family and friends at least twice a day.
