WEST MICHIGAN — A large area of showers and thunderstorms over eastern Wisconsin and Lake Michigan failed to move east this morning leaving the majority of West Michigan dry but more chances for rain return this afternoon. Southwesterly winds will usher in warm, moist air this morning and afternoon and will provide the ingredients needed for storms to develop later today. Rain chances remain the highest at and near the Indiana border as Lake Michigan will hold off on some development in early afternoon. Storms which do develop will be scattered in nature but could contain gusty winds and heavy rains.
Heat and humidity stick around for the first full week of summer as temperatures warm ever higher Sunday with temperatures reaching into the upper 80’s and near 90.
