WEST MICHIGAN — An intense line of showers and thunderstorms which moved through Minnesota and Wisconsin this morning will move east toward West Michigan this afternoon and evening. Rain chances from these storms are fairly low as the showers will out run their main energy source and start to dissipate once they travel across Lake Michigan. With the lake being cool, the chance of these storms actually making the trip across the lake is very slim however, we won’t be surprised if we see a few stray rain drops late in the afternoon and evening hours. Better chances for rain return Friday night and Saturday as a warm front could spark showers and thunderstorms to develop. We are not expecting any severe weather however any storms that do develop this weekend could bring gusty winds, lightning and heavy rain. The unsettled pattern sets in through the end of next week with chances for pop-up showers and thunderstorms through Thursday.
