WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — The Summer Solstice is getting closer. Summer officially begins at 1:04AM EDT Friday morning.
At this point until the Winter Solstice in December, the length of daylight will be decreasing. However, the loss of daylight is very slow and hardly noticeable for a while. In fact, by the end of July, we only lose a total of 52 minutes of daylight. This averages out to be just a little over a minute per day.
