BARRY COUNTY, Mich. (June 20, 2013)– The woman who claimed she was stabbed while feeding her horses in late May was arrested by the Barry County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday, June 19, for filing a false police report in that case.
Samantha Anne Minehart, 26, reported that she was assaulted by a man wielding a knife as she entered a barn near her house. She told police the man cut her on her neck and stomach, and that she fired two shots at him when he fled.
No suspect was located following sheriff’s search of the area after the incident. Minehart, the daughter of fallen Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer John Minehart, has been charged in Barry County District Court with the false reporting of a felony.
