GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Police Department and the City of Grand Rapids are beginning the recruiting and hiring process for new officers.
The announcement was made on Friday. The department is looking for qualified and motivated men and women who wish to serve as a police officer for Grand Rapids.
Those seeking employment must be licensed by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards, or be eligible for licensure by November 7, 2013. They must have also received a passing score on the EMPCO Police Officer Exam.
Qualified individuals will be required to fill out an online application through the City of Grand Rapids.
The department has not hired any police officers since April 2009.
