BATTLE CREEK,Mich. — Every June the Battle Creek Cereal Festival is an event that celebrates the City of Battle Creek and features the World’s Longest Breakfast Table. Events take place throughout the weekend to celebrate a community proud of its rich and varied past. The event includes a parade, all day concerts, healthy living activities, food donation opportunities for the Food Bank and informational tents. The many facets of Battle Creek’s heritage are celebrated including: the birthplace of the cereal industry, the home of former slave an abolitionist sojourner Truth, Seventh-day Adventist visionary, Ellen White, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg who transformed health care in the nineteenth century and cereal industry magnates, C. W. Post and W. K. Kellogg.
