ZEELAND, Mich. — Mr. Chops, a Zeeland-based Potbellied pig poised to become the world’s oldest known swine, will celebrate his 21st birthday on June 18.  If he lives until July 19, he will officially set the Guinness World Record.

“To see him reach this age is truly special to us and to so many people who’ve come to know and love him,” owner Mary Rottschaffer said.

Rottschaffer is also the owner of the Critter Barn, a three-acre nonprofit animal farm in Zeeland and the place that Mr. Chops calls home. There will be a birthday celebration there on June 18 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
