verizonWASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States government reportedly has a top secret court order that requires Verizon to turn over telephone records of millions of Americans.

That’s according to a report by The Guardian.

The U.K.-based newspaper says the order requires Verizon’s records to be turned over to the National Security Agency on an “ongoing daily basis.”

The order was signed on April 25 and runs through July 19.

The Guardian reports the order requires sharing phone numbers, locations, time calls were made, and the duration of those calls. It does not, however, require the contents of conversations be turned over.

Verizon has declined to comment. The NSA has told CNN it will respond to the report soon.
