Funeral services are taking place for a woman who was killed while trying to assist in an accident in Kentwood late last week.
Police say Peggy Pittman was hit by a 76-year-old woman in a pickup truck who tried to drive away after she crashed with another driver near the East Hills Athletic Club.
Witnesses said Pittman jumped out to help and was motioning to the woman driving the truck to stop when she was run over.
Pittman is survived by her husband of more than twenty years and their three daughters.
Friends say the family didn’t have a lot of money for the unexpected expense of Pittman’s funeral.
O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral home in Cascade will be accepting donations to help the family pay for the expenses.
