Cullen Finnerty to be Remembered at Funeral on Tuesday

Posted

BRIGHTON, Mich. — Cullen Finnerty will be remembered at a mass on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Brighton, on the state’s east side. That’s according to Grand Valley State University.

Finnerty will then be buried at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights. He leaves behind a wife, son and daughter.

Finnerty went fishing last Sunday evening in Lake County but never returned. His body was found two days later near his boat, and autopsy results are inconclusive.  He was 30 years old.

Finnerty was a quarterback at GVSU for Division II national championships in 2003, 2005 and 2006. His 51-4 record when he left GVSU made him the winningest quarterback in NCAA history, from any division.
