Severe Weather Threat Moves East

Posted

(WEST MICHIGAN) — (FOX 17) Severe chances have now all but moved out of West Michigan for this afternoon and evening. The slight risk area has been trimmed away removing all of West Michigan. The slight risk area now covers only southeast Michigan from Hillsdale to Port Huron. It still is possible to see afternoon thunderstorms develop but the chances of those storms meeting severe criteria is slim.

If you are traveling to the east side of the state, keep in mind that storms that do develop could contain gusty winds, heavy rains and small hail. Officials at the Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle will be keeping an eye on the sky throughout the day as well.

Cooler temperatures and drier weather will return for the beginning of the work week as temperatures will struggle into the upper 60’s Sunday and Monday.
