Severe Weather Threat Increases Friday

Posted

WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — There have been some strong storms in our area the past few days, but it appears a threat of severe weather starts Friday in West Michigan.

This map shows the area where the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla. has outlined a slight risk (the area in yellow) and a moderate risk (orange). The main threat in these areas is large hail and damaging winds, though a tornado can’t be ruled out.

The threat of severe weather exists on Saturday as well.

The best timing of the severe weather in West Michigan appears to be Friday evening and again on Saturday afternoon. We will have updates on FOX 17 News, and of course, the latest forecast is just a click away at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
