GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — You’re asked to donate gently-used children’s bathing suits starting Wednesday at the YMCAs of Greater Grand Rapids.

They need the donations for kids ages 6 to 10, so they’ll have the opportunity to participate in YMCA aquatics programs. They’re accepting the suits until June 15.

It’s called “suits from suits” to encourage business leaders in the area to donate swimsuits or make a $50 contribution that would provide a child with swimwear, aquatic safety training and swimming lessons.

You can drop the bathing suits off at:

  • David D. Hunting Family YMCA, at 475 Lake Michigan Drive NW in Grand Rapids
  • Wolverine Worldwide Family YMCA, at 6555 Jupiter Avenue NE in Belmont
  • Southeast YMCA, at 730 Forest Hill Avenue SE in Grand Rapids
  • Spartan Stores YMCA, at 5722 Metro Way in Wyoming
  • Visser Family YMCA, at 3540 Fairlanes Avenue SW in Grandville
  • Waters Building in Kent County

The program will be kicked off at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the David D. Hunting YMCA.
