KENTWOOD, Mich — The Grandville softball team, which is ranked 3rd in division 1, beat East Kentwood on Monday by scores of 6-4 and 10-0.
In game 1 the Bulldogs scored 3 runs in the 5th inning to take a 5-3 lead, Nikki Yalacki doubled home a run and Kylie Marckini followed with a 2-run single. Lauren Weldy was the winning pitcher. Kentwood’s Taylor Galster hit a solo home run in the 1st inning.
With the sweep, Grandville improves to 13-1 in conference play and clinches at least a share of the OK Red title. The Bulldogs can win the league outright with a win over Rockford on Thrusday or 1 loss from 2nd place Hudsonville in their final 3 games.
