Tractor Driver Pulled Over For Intoxication

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. – A man on a full-sized John Deere tractor was pulled over for drunk driving Friday afternoon.

According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, the 49-year-old man from Paw Paw was pulled over after driving in both the Southbound and Northbound lanes on a 1970 John Deere 4020 farm tractor going South on County Road 665 near County Road 669 around 5 p.m.

Deputies approached the man and found a strong smell of alcohol coming from the driver.

Officers then asked the man to take part in a sobriety test, which he then refused and was placed in custody for suspicion of driving intoxicated.

The name of the driver is not being released, but officers reported that he was arrested for drunk driving two times before and currently does not have a valid license.

The driver is now in the Van Buren County Jail.
