CHIKAMING TOWNSHIP,Mich. — A Chicago man is in jail after Michigan State Troopers found 160-pounds of Marijuana hidden in his SUV on Friday. Troopers stopped the vehicle for weaving out of the lane while traveling on eastbound Interstate 94 near mile marker 9 in Chikaming Township of Berrien County.
During the stop and search of the vehicle, state police discovered the marijuana hidden inside duffel bags placed in the back of a 2006 GMC Yukon SUV.
The 36-year-old driver was arrested and lodged in the Berrien County jail on a charge of possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
The only other occupant of the vehicle at the time was the suspect’s three 3-year old son who was placed with relatives through the assistance of the Child Protective Services.
