WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — There is some good news for people who enjoy spending the evening outside after work and school. As of Thursday, the sunset isn’t until 9pm EDT. What’s even more good news is the fact that the sun won’t set prior to 9pm again until August 5. In other words, for over two months, the sun will still be out at 9pm.
Of course, the sunset will get later in coming weeks. By the end of May, the sunset is at 9:14pm. The latest sunset of the summer is from June 25 through June 29, when it doesn’t occur until 9:26pm.
For the early morning risers, the sunrise is also getting earlier. As of Tuesday, the sunrise was at 6:20am. The earliest sunrise of the year is in mid-June, when it occurs at 6:03am.
