050513ALLERGYGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — (FOX 17) Spring took its good old sweet time arriving in West Michigan this year but if you have looked around lately it is making up for lost time. Trees and flowers are starting to bloom leading many allergy suffers sneezing.

The pollen count is extremely high across West Michigan with tree allergens. Pollen from Ash, Birch and Maple trees will make for a hard week for allergy sufferers as pollen counts will remain high through the week.

Dry conditions, and breezy winds help spread pollen making this week particularly high due to the lack of rain chances and afternoon lake breeze. Pollen totals should fall slightly at the end of the week when rain chances increase.
