KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A man in a vehicle sped away from the police after being pulled over for a moving violation.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. Friday night on Nazareth Road, north of Gull Road when the suspect vehicle took off from a traffic stop at a high-speed.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff Deputies then pursued the man for about 2 miles before finally cancelling the pursuit, due to the suspect’s dangerous driving and high speeds into a neighborhood.
After deputies drove through the neighborhoods, they located the suspect vehicle abandoned in the 200 block of north Riverview Road. Witnesses pointed to the direction where the suspect ran and deputies found him in the 400 block of Keyes Drive after a short foot pursuit.
The driver was arrested for fleeting and eluding, resisting and obstructing, operating while intoxicated, driving while licence suspended, and an outstanding felony warrant.
