KENT COUNTY, Mich. – The following was posted to the FOX 17 Facebook page Friday from Thomas Wheeler:

“Thank you to those who are paying it forward! I worked as the manager at the Pennzoil on 44th & Clyde Park. I say I worked there because I lost my job today. Well something happened to me at Meijer an hour later. I never thought once I had a chance of it happening to me seeing it on the news every so often, and of all the days for it to happen it was TODAY! An elderly gentleman stopped me and asked how my day was going. I told my story and he says, “I hope it gets better for you,” and slips something in my hand as we shook. As I go to look what it is he disappeared. He just handed me a 50 dollar bill! I literally just wanted to break down and cry. Always remember to have faith! Someone can change your day in mere seconds. Thank you again you have restored my hope!!”
