Afternoon Robbery At Kalamazoo County Credit Union

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police are seeking a suspect after a Kalamazoo County credit union was robbed Friday afternoon.

At 2:38 p.m., the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed bank robbery at the Consumers Credit Union at 6699 W. Main St. in Oshtemo Township. Upon officers arriving at the scene, employees told police that a lone man entered the credit union armed with a chrome revolver, demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s or 50s standing about 6 feet tall with an average build. He was last seen wearing a black pullover quarter zip jacket, black pants, a bright orange cloth hood that partially covered his face and white athletic shoes.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, the Michigan State Police and the FBI’s Kalamazoo office.

A Kalamazoo Public Safety canine unit tracked the suspect a short distance from the bank without success.
