(FOX 17) — As the rain continues to fall Tuesday evening, this April has moved into the ranking as the third wettest month in history and the wettest month in 17 years.

Grand Rapids received 0.57″ of rain Tuesday. This brings the monthly total to 10.41″, making it the third wettest month ever. Here are the rankings:

  1. June 1892, 13.22″
  2. September 1986, 11.85″
  3. April 2013, 10.29″ (and counting)

As you can see, with just another 1.57″ of an inch, this will become the second wettest month ever. This image from FOX 17 radar shows that we’re not quite done with the rain yet. More is in the forecast next week as well.

Of course, all the rain this month has resulted in flooding. Luckily, the rain from today won’t cause additional flooding problems. For more on the flooding, join us on FOX 17 News, or visit the website at http://www.fox17online.com
