More Workers Hospitalized At Aspen Surgical Products

CALEDONIA, Mich. – More people have been sent to the hospital after getting sick while working at a business in Caledonia.

On Wednesday, emergency crews were called back to Aspen Surgical Products after employees started complaining of chest pain. Three of them were sent to the hospital, while three others were evaluated.

This incident occurred less than 24-hours after other workers were treated for breathing problems.

On Tuesday, more than 60 workers became ill. Thirteen of them were sent to the hospital, two of which, were listed in serious condition. However, all of them were released early Wednesday morning.

Investigators are at the business trying to figure out what has caused the widespread illness.

FOX 17 did some digging and found that the company has six prior citations from OSHA. All of which, are listed by regulators as “serious violations.”
