KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Around 11 a.m. this morning, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to a report of a house fire in the 600 block of Edwin Street.
Upon arrival, officers observed heavy smoke and flames coming from the first and second floors of the structure.
Public Safety officers say, six adults and five children, ages two through ten, were living at the house.
A neighbor who helped evacuate the family suffered minor smoke inhalation and was treated by Life Paramedics at the scene.
At this time, the cause of the fire appears to be accidental.
