CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. — In Kent County Court a Cedar Springs Father has been charged with filing a false police report and was sentenced to four years probation and 30 days house arrest.

Eugene Rose plead guilty on February fourth to lying to a police officer.

Rose told Kent County Sheriff’s Deputies that a man tried to abducted his son from his 17 mile road home and he hit the man with a piece of wood to get his son back from the man attempting to abduct the child.

Rose apparently made up the story to get out of doing a door knocking religious mission with his wife, according to police.
