BYRON CENTER, Mich. — A teenage passenger suffered broken bones and pelvic fractures in a crash that blocked 84th Street Tuesday morning.
The driver of a Jeep SUV, a teen herself, thought she was going to hit something during a slippery commute. She swerved, which sent her vehicle into a truck carrying wood. The truck rolled onto its side, blocking the road.
The passenger with injuries was sent to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, but 84th Street was blocked near Burlingame Avenue for some time, sending commuters on a long detour.
Those involved were not identified. The drivers of both the Jeep and the truck were not injured.
The crash took place shortly after 7:30 a.m.
