Sunny St. Paddy’s But Still Cool

WEST MICHIGAN – Take a look at the attached snapshot from our FOX 17 graphics system. Despite all the sunshine we had today, temps still only made the low 30s at best in many locations. The lakeshore was tad bit warmer.

Unfortunately, this chill is what we’ll be feeling much of the upcoming week. Normal/average highs should have us in the middle 40s, but an even bigger chill is coming. While we may briefly reach the upper 30s to near 40 on Monday, rain and snow are expected to develop (after the morning rush hour). There may even be a little freezing rain or sleet before in at the onset.

Once the low pressure system gets by us Monday night, the system will strengthen and the winds will increase. Sharply colder air will be pulled in from Canada and temps will mainly be in the 20s on both Tuesday and Wednesday with lake-effect snow showers and windy conditions. It doesn’t appear that a warm up of any significance will occur the rest of the week. Perhaps we can turn the corner on winter the last week of March.
