KENTWOOD, Mich. – A Grand Rapids man who was hit by a vehicle Thursday night is in critical condition, according to the Kentwood Police Department.
Officials said Benjamin Folkertsma, 38, was struck by a vehicle while he was walking down Countrywood Drive near Breton Avenue in Kentwood.
Folkertsma was reported as wearing dark clothing while walking in a dark area of the street.
Folkertsma was transferred to Butterworth Hospital by Life Ambulance.
The driver of the vehicle Robert Knauf, 60, from Kentwood was not injured in the incident.
