GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – The new Ele’s Place in Grand Rapids is seeking caring adults to volunteer as facilitators with its children’s support groups.

The 21-year-old healing center for grieving children and teens will open its Grand Rapids center this spring at Third Reformed Church on Michigan Street.

People of diverse ethnicities, including males and bilingual individuals, are encouraged to apply; however, any interested adult is welcome to submit a volunteer application.

The children and teens who will participate in the support groups range in age from 3 to 18. They will come from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds and circumstances, but will all be grieving the death of a family member or friend.

To become an Ele’s Place support group facilitator, individuals are required to complete a 23-hour training program and make a one-year commitment to work with their assigned group.

Volunteer applications should be submitted by Tuesday, March 12 to be considered for participation in the upcoming spring training.
