BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Students at Battle Creek High School received the surprise of a lifetime when Earvin “Magic” Johnson stopped by for a visit.

Nearly 1,200 students were gathered inside the WK Kellogg Auditorium when the 6-foot-9-inch Hall of Fame basketball star walked in.

“Staff and students are very grateful for his willingness to share his time with us,” said Coby Fletcher, principal of the school.

Fletcher said Johnson spent most of his time encouraging students to set high goals.

Following his message to students, the NBA star took numerous questions from the audience.
