Thursday Forecast: A Break, Finally

and last updated

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Shifting winds overnight have brought most of the lake-effect snow to an end around West Michigan, and Thursday will give most of the area a much-deserved break from the snow.

The main band of snow was still clipping the lakeshore south of Saugatuck as of 3:30 A.M., but will continue to slide away from Southwest Michigan through the rest of the morning.

Cold temperatures will continue through today, with one more morning of single-digit temperatures and highs only in the teens Thursday afternoon.

Another system (not lake-effect) will bring snow to all of West Michigan during the day on Friday.  Most accumulations should be on the order of one to three inches.

You can check out the rest of the weekend forecast, as well as a warmup next week, on the Weather page.  We’ll have more on FOX 17 Morning News from 5:00 to 9:00 A.M.
