Probation Home Visit Turns Into Meth Bust

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A probation home visit turned into a meth bust in Kalamazoo.

On Thursday, a parole officer checked-in on a woman who lives at the 1000 block of Lay Blvd. This check was part of her probation that stemmed from a previous charge related to methamphetamine.

The check led to a search warrant for the home after it was suspected meth was inside.

Officials also found a man, 43, hiding inside the home, who was also in possession of suspected meth.

Suspected meth was located in several rooms throughout the home. The drug was packaged for sale with a total street value of more than $2,500.

In the room where the officers found the man, there was also a large quantity of marijuana. That was also packaged for sale.

Both suspects were taken into custody.

The woman is being held at KCSD on charges of maintaining a drug house, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, and a probation violation.

The male subject was also lodged at KCSD on charges of frequenting a drug house, possession with the intent to deliver marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.
