GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Changes are expected to come to the annual Fifth Third River Bank Run.
There will be a Fifth Third River Bank Run news conference on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 10:30 a.m., in the Gillett Auditorium of the Fifth Third Bank’s main office.
The conference will discuss the changes that are in store for the run scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 11.
That date for the run, may also be changing.
Some of the changes include:
New race day event that will encourage group involvement.
Wheelchair and handcycles will participate in second race day event for first time.
American Record Prize Bonus addition will provide for greater race day competition among elite athlete field.
Initiation of Event Alert System will keep participants, volunteers and spectators as informed as possible on race day.
Two new programs will expand the Fifth Third River Bank Run health and fitness platform year-round.
