SHERMAN, Mich. — A large fire northeast of Fremont required six departments to get under control Monday morning.
The fire broke out around 6:40 a.m. at Miller’s Feed Mill on 32nd Street near Croswell Avenue. There are several barns on the property. Early reports did not say how many buildings were involved, but the fire was described as “big.”
Crews were still working at the scene around 10:30 a.m., according to a source, who said the mill has been owned by Ernest Miller and his family for at least 15 years.
The fires were reported by the source as being in bins where corn is stored, and the contents of the bins were lost.
