LANSING, Mich — The Michigan Committee for Severe Weather Awareness has announced its 2013 poster contest for fourth- and fifth-grade students statewide.
The annual competition encourages students to illustrate how Michigan families should prepare for severe weather, including snowstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and floods. The committee says it is looking for posters with a clear Last year’s contest drew more than 1,300 entries.
The grand prize winner will receive a $200 U.S. Savings bond, with prizes continuing down to $50 for an honorable mention.
