A Muskegon Police officer was taken to the hospital after being shot early Saturday morning.
It happened around 3:25 a.m. in the 4700 block of Oak Road.
The Muskegon Sheriff’s Department called Muskegon Police to a reported incident.
FOX 17 talked to Muskegon County Prosecutor elect D.J. Hilson who said the initial 911 call was for a person who had been shot.
Gun fire was exchanged between officers and the suspect.
Police say an officer and the suspect were shot.
Both were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The suspect was taken into custody.
No other details were released about the initial 911 call or the third person involved.
The incident remains under investigation.
