KALAMAZOO, Mich– The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department believes three armed robberies on Thursday night are all related.

Two of the armed robberies happened on the campus of Western Michigan University. The school sent out text alerts and put up a warning on its home page Thursday evening to warn students to be careful.

One of the incidents happened near Bigelow Hall, and the other was on the west end of campus near Parking Services.

The suspects are both described as young black males. One was wearing a plaid shirt and jeans, while the other was wearing a dark hoodie and sweats.

Suspects in a third armed robbery off campus have similar descriptions, which leads police to believe all the robberies are related.

The third robbery happened around 11:30 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on West KL Avenue in Oshtemo Township. One of the two suspects had a gun, and they fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The armed suspect is described as a black male about 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, red shirt and dark pants. The second suspect is also a black male with a medium build, described as about 5 feet, 8 inches tall. This man was last seen wearing a mask, black hoodie and gray sweatpants.
