The jobless rate in the U.S. went down slightly in November as the economy added 146,000 jobs, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said Friday.
More jobs were available in retail, health care, and professional and business services.
There was concern the unemployment rate would be affected by Hurricane Sandy, which hit the East Coast on October 29, but the bureau said response rates for its survey were within established norms.
State numbers for November will not be released until December 21.
