GRAND RAPIDS — The forecast from FOX 17 Meteorologist Erik Kostrzewa: The hot & super humid airmass has arrived and will make things very uncomfortable into Sunday. While the heat is here, showers and thunderstorms will be possible through Sunday afternoon. The best chance will be from 5 A.M. to noon on Sunday and a few could be strong to severe. Damaging wind gusts will be the main threat along with heavy rain and lightning. It will be very windy tomorrow too meaning waves will be large on Lake Michigan. It is strongly advised that you remain out of the water and off the piers on Sunday. Conditions quiet down and the humidity leaves us on Monday.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, very warm & muggy. Scattered showers/storms possible this evening with a more likely chance well after midnight. Low of 76.

SUNDAY: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2 P.M. Partly sunny. Still very warm and humid. Highs in the middle 80s. Southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph. Very dangerous conditions on Lake Michigan the entire day.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny and less humid. Highs in the lower/middle 80s.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms developing late. Highs in the middle 80s. Increasingly humid.
