WEST MICHIGAN — Great weekend weather is upon us here in West Michigan with abundant sunshine in order for today and much milder temperatures building for tomorrow. Though it stays on the chilly side here on the first half of the weekend, we see a jump on the thermometer versus previous days into the lower half of the 30s this afternoon. That is 5-10 degrees milder than the past couple of days. West to southwest winds will be a bit breezy but not as strong as what we experienced Thursday and into Friday.
The warming trend really ramps up tomorrow with the mercury headed for the upper 40s to around 50 degrees before all is said and done. Southerly winds will pick up on Sunday and gust to between 25-30 mph helping to draw up the milder air into our region. Despite the noticeable uptick with the temps, high level clouds will also tend to increase on Sunday thus filtering and dimming sunshine.
The overall mild pattern runs through much of this coming workweek. Highs will remain in the ballpark of the middle 40s for most days. After a bit of a cooler occasion this coming Friday in the upper 30s, we should see another period of substantial warming through next weekend with the prospect for readings to climb into the 50s next Sunday. No big storms are anticipated through the next 7+ days.
