EAST LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan High School Athletic Association announced approval of the winter sports schedules Thursday.
"Contact" sports can begin non-contact practice on Saturday, January 16th while full practices and games start February 1st. The schedules were planned according to requirements issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human services.
Sports scheduled include Girls and Boys Basketball, Competitive Cheer, Ice Hockey, and Wrestling. The association says the spring sports schedule is not changed as of now, with practices starting March 15th. The winter schedule was planned to ensure multi-sport athletes could participate without interrupting either season.
