Jace Williams signs with Miami (OH)

Grand Rapids Catholic Central senior wide receiver Jace Williams signed a national letter of intent on Wednesday to play football at Miami of Ohio.

“Today is really special for me and my family, I’ve been working on this my whole life and it finally paid off and it is a really good stress reliever, I feel great and I can’t wait for these next four years. "

Like so many recruits, Williams has not been able to visit the campus of the school he chose due to NCAA restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He says it was the coaches that made him want to be a RedHawk.

"I really was connected with the coaches, I felt like the coaches really wanted me to come there and I felt like that was a place that I could thrive and become great.”

Williams is planning to stay at Catholic Central through the spring and is hoping to get a chance to finish the high school football state tournament where his Cougars are still alive in the division four regionals.
