NOVI, Mich. — Calvin Christian would make its first-ever appearance in a boys soccer state championship game on Saturday when the Squires took on Lenawee Christian at Novi High School.
The game would remain scoreless until the 47th minute when Andrew Heeringa found Abraham VanderHoek on the free kick for the goal.
However, the Cougars would score twice, including one in the final minutes to win, 2-1 as the Squires finish the season as the state runner-up.
