Know the Law – Insurer Flexibility and COVID-19

Earlier this week, the Director of the Department of Insurance and Financial Services issued a bulletin recommending that insurers offer flexibility to those experiencing financial difficulty due to COVID-19.

Under the Governor’s Stay-At-Home order, insurance providers are considered “critical infrastructure workers” and remain operational, as explained in last week’s Know the Law segment.

Attorney Tom Sinas explains the issued recommendations, and what Michigan residents should be aware of if they are concerned about paying their insurance premiums or making claims.
